Stay near Holme Pierrepont, sleep in the countryside

Holme Pierrepont is the National Water Sports Centre: a 2,000-metre regatta lake, the country's first artificial white water course, and the home of British rowing and canoe events since the 1970s. It sits in Holme Pierrepont Country Park on the Trent just east of Nottingham, with lakeside walks, a high ropes Sky Trail, open water swimming and a full calendar of regattas, triathlons and races.

Eden Pines has six glamping pods for two, each with its own private hot tub on its own terrace, on a four-and-a-half-acre working smallholding at Oxton Hill near Southwell. It is around 30 minutes from Holme Pierrepont by road, north of the river, which makes it a quiet base for an event weekend or a couple of days on the water.

The park is adults only, so it suits couples looking for a quiet break rather than families with young children. Competitors, coaches and supporters tend to end up in Nottingham hotels or the campsite at the park. If you would rather come back from the lake to your own hot tub in open countryside, Eden Pines is the alternative. The park opens in December 2026 and you can register interest now.
