Sherwood Forest is the reason most people come to this corner of Nottinghamshire. The Major Oak, the Robin Hood legend, the ancient oaks of the National Nature Reserve and the cycle trails at Sherwood Pines draw visitors all year round.
Eden Pines has six glamping pods for two, each with its own private hot tub on its own terrace, on a four-and-a-half-acre working smallholding at Oxton Hill near Southwell. It is far enough from the forest to be properly quiet, and close enough that you can be walking under the oaks twenty-five minutes after breakfast.
The park is adults only, so it suits couples looking for a quiet break rather than families with young children. After a day in the forest you come back to your own hot tub, a fire pit and a hillside with nothing but sheep for neighbours. The park opens in December 2026 and you can register interest now.

The Major Oak
Robin Hood's legendary hideout, an oak somewhere between 800 and 1,000 years old, reached by a level walk from the visitor centre at Edwinstowe.
Sherwood Forest National Nature Reserve
Waymarked walks through one of Europe's largest collections of ancient oaks, run by the RSPB. Free to enter, with a café and shop at the visitor centre.
Sherwood Pines
Forestry England's biggest forest in the East Midlands, with family and mountain bike trails, bike hire, Go Ape treetop courses and long walks.
Rufford Abbey Country Park
The ruins of a Cistercian abbey and a later country house, set in lakeside parkland with gardens, a sculpture trail and lakeside tea rooms.
Clumber Park
A National Trust estate with a serpentine lake, the longest lime tree avenue in Europe, a walled kitchen garden and miles of cycling paths.
Thoresby
Thoresby Hall and its courtyard of galleries and craft shops sit on the edge of the forest, a short drive from Edwinstowe.

How far is Eden Pines Park from Sherwood Forest?
The park is around 12 miles south of the Sherwood Forest visitor centre at Edwinstowe, which is about a 25-minute drive up the A614. Rufford Abbey is a few minutes closer.
Is there glamping with a hot tub near Sherwood Forest?
Yes. Every one of the six pods at Eden Pines has its own private hot tub on a private terrace. The pods are for two guests and the park is adults only.
Can we visit Sherwood Forest and Southwell in the same trip?
Easily. Southwell, with its minster, Georgian streets and the National Trust Workhouse, is a few minutes from the park in the opposite direction to the forest, so many guests do one on each day.
When does the park open?
